Almost ready

The flute sleeve for my little princess is almost ready. At least embroidery. Now I have to finish the sleeve itself!

Today I was also painting, but today was a really humid day around here and I couldn't make much progress...

In the winter garden, some dragonflies and flowers: among the cactus and orchids bras when no flower.

Also a vintage crystal piece
Not always what surrounds us at home will be a work of art, but it will add beauty.

Candle-holder with beads and copper wire

Sewing!

I don't remember when was the last time I hold a needle and it wasn't to solve a last minute emergency.
But ... my daughter lost the cover of her flute ... which awakened in me a mix of Super-mum effect (a busy super-mum) and the desire to make art with beads and fabric.
To see the results, you´ll have to wait. Meanwhile, I can show my sewing kit, obviously painted by me. Pure everyday art!

Double project: little chair and a painted stone

These days I have been busy painting this little chair. This is a peek of what is coming next.
This new project is part of the series of works called "dejarse habitar" or "let live into you", like the chair of my art studio.
Is very important for me to be able to reflect through my art what I feel and think. I already told you how much I love to be surrounded by phrases.  Phases are so good to make a stop in daily routine and  think what we want, what we want to do or just laugh.
This is how is looking so far:

I'm still working on it!.

Meanwhile, I made a short stop to paint a stone with a phrase. "Enjoy life now, this is not a rehearsal".

Have a nice week and enjoy!

Phrases

I like to be surrounded by phrases, some of them make me think, some of them smile... well, many different feelings.
The little house with the grill (this is Argentina, we eat meat a lot) and my art studio was the perfect place to have them.
From the construction of this little house, some woods were left. Well not so left, I rescued them. They looked used, but this made them more attractive.
I transfer the phrases, paint them with acrylics and a liner and then cut them.

Some of them:

There is another: "Dear mosquitoes, please suck my fat, not my blood". Because thinking isn't everything....

Stones

I love stones... I have them all around the house and garden.

Some of them are "intervened"...

Bedside lamp

Mi grandma, China, knew my love for things with stories. She gave me two bedside lamps.
But unfortunately one of them suffered from a coordination error and the glass tulip end up broken. I could have looked for another to replace the old one, but it came to my mind the idea to make one with some staff I already had at home.

And this is the other one, still complete! The style of both is totally different now, so I put them in totally different corners of the house...

Old cans

I love them... the older the better.
Many years ago, a really small shop near by, had some cans (for cookies) that looked as something without a future.
The lovely lady kept those treasures in her shop, without knowing really what to do with them.
My radar detected them and I offer her to buy them. She thought about what to do for five minutes, asked her son, and they decided to sell them to me for something like $1.
They weren't in good shape and were really dirty. So I washed them, painted them, pasted some images, and treated them to look old.
Here they are!

At this point of the story I should confess my love for Alphonse Mucha. My favorite artist. His images honor my can.

The green one is more renaissance, with images of Miguel Angel.

Now the keep candles and small pieces of fabric.
Everyday art...
