Chateau La Roche Guyon

We visited many places from the cottage, many of them were castles, which we love.
The first one was, the La Roche Guyon Castle, located in a village with the same name, that actually grew thanks to the castle, in the region of Ile de France.
This medieval castle, from the 12th Century, was renovated and some changes were introduced during the 18th Century.
The Tower on the top of the cliff (the keep)  is communicated with the castle through a hidden passage: a stair dogged on the rock, with 450 steps.
In the castle itself, we could see wonderful paintings. Apparently many artists used to visit this castle, leaving some of their work behind.

Contemporaneous art, in the same room with the art pieces from the castle.

The Sienne view, from the top. Also the garden of the Castle.
The access to the tower (keep) through the stairs dogged on the rock.

Some paintings that have the castle and the Grand Salon as its theme.
