Colors of the house in a grey day

Today was one of those grey days, raining and cold... all day long.
A perfect day to stay at home, to hug someone you love and sit on the couch covered up to the nose to watch a movie, drinking a delicious tea.
This is what a perfect grey day is for me.
In these grey days the colors and lights of the house mean everything.

What do you do on grey days?

“There are people who are working their whole lives just waiting for their retirement; then they will relax and enjoy. And they know perfectly well: six days they work in the office and wait for the seventh day, the holiday, and hope, “Soon Sunday will come and we will relax and enjoy.” And they cannot relax and they cannot enjoy. In fact, the holiday seems to be so long and so boring; they have to fill it with something.
They go for a picnic. The same things that they would have eaten at home, in a relaxed way, now they rush towards a picnic spot miles away to eat. And they are sitting in the grass, and ants are very clever; they know perfectly well where the picnic spots are.
And cars are going there bumper to bumper. And many more accidents happen on Sunday than on any other day, many more deaths on the road than on any other day. Strange! Some holiday!
And the whole city is going towards the same picnic spot, the same beach! I have seen pictures of beaches and I cannot believe what is happening. There is not even space to walk! They are packed. Six hours it takes them to reach the beach, then for one hour they lie down amidst this whole mass of fools under the sun, and then back home… And the whole way they were quarrelling with the wife and the wife is quarrelling with… This you can do at home more at ease, relaxed in an armchair — nag each other, do whatsoever you want! What is the point of going to the beach? Nobody is seeing the sea, nobody is seeing the sun. Nobody has time.” Osho.

I hope you have the best weekend, doing whatever you do, or simply doing nothing!

Second of the week

A more formal one. With an oriental feeling.

This is the end of the necklaces week! I have several projects ongoing. Furniture to recycle, a little chair waiting to be painted and the embroidering for my daughter.

Necklace week

Making necklaces takes time. The clay needs to be knead, cooked, decorated, painted, protected with special varnish and then the piece can be assembled. Since the pieces are not large, is also a detailed work.
This week I went to buy chains, hooks, a lot of little things ... now I have everything to make my necklaces and no excuse!
I love making this little pieces, is an act of patient that feels good ...
I am making myself two necklaces in the same base color, but quite different in style.
This is first, more casual.
The pieces before being cooked in the oven
All done. I also added a few little details.

And I am wearing it already!

Sewing!

I don't remember when was the last time I hold a needle and it wasn't to solve a last minute emergency.
But ... my daughter lost the cover of her flute ... which awakened in me a mix of Super-mum effect (a busy super-mum) and the desire to make art with beads and fabric.
To see the results, you´ll have to wait. Meanwhile, I can show my sewing kit, obviously painted by me. Pure everyday art!

With Friends

How was your weekend? Yesterday I had a great afternoon... some friends came home for tea (it was my birthday this week).
Having them home was a good excuse to use the freshly painted tables, a tray that I painted a while ago, part of my collection of teapots and the improvised flowerpots.

The tables of the grill house

The tables had to comply with three conditions: be good, nice and cheap!
So we bought them made of pine wood, we painted them and I'm now writing phrases on them (just because I love to be surrounded by phrases).
Everything in the grill area + my atelier is about bright colors... and the tables couldn't be less colored!

"nothing is more equally distributed than reason, everyone believes that have enough."

"In a kiss I'll know everything I haven't said"

"Who does not believe in magic will never find it"

"A friend's visit cools as morning dew"
"The chief danger in life is that you may take too many precautions."
"Who does not understand a glance, will not understand a long explanation"
